The first prototypes were built in 1934, and serial production continued in 1939-1944, ending with the production of approx. 3,500 copies of this vehicle. Car Sd.Kfz. 6 did not have fixed armament as standard.
SdKfz.6 / 1 artillery tractor 5t – half-track artillery tractor with a pulling force of 5 tons was developed by Büssing-NAG and Daimler-Benz in 1934. and was intended for the transportation of artillery crews with attendants on the highway and off-road. The half-track significantly increased the throughput of the conveyor. The artillery vehicle had 1 row of seats less than the engineering one in favor of a body for artillery.
